In 2014 the Veteran Car Club (VCC) welcomed their first Lady President, Ruth Moore.

Ruth was a strong supporter of the Bonhams London to Brighton Veteran Car Run and together with her husband Brian they entered over 50 times. Their beloved 1892 Panhard et Levassor ‘AX55’, which was the oldest car on the event on a number of occasions, was her entry of choice and represented a great challenge to finish punctually on Madeira Drive.

During her Presidency Ruth organised the first VCC Ladies Rally with a route around the Cambridgeshire and Suffolk lanes and a leisurely lunch at Newmarket Racecourse.  Lady drivers came from all over the country with their cars to enjoy the day.

On 2nd June this year the Lady President’s Rally will celebrate that achievement with a special event hosted by Martin Whitlock, as once again the VCC lady drivers take to the roads in their Veterans to enjoy a day of motoring in the countryside.
