Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason has been a regular on the Veteran Car Run since he first took part in 1985. He is often joined by members of the Franchitti family – his daughter Holly is married to racing driver Marino Franchitti. Here is Nick crossing Westminster Bridge aboard his 1901 Panhard Et Levassor. He bought this splendid machine, which has magnificent Roi-Des-Belges coachwork, specifically to use on the Run. 

Paying tribute to his handsome motor car’s suitability for negotiating the South Downs en-route to Brighton, Nick said “The great thing about the Panhard's 5-litre engine is that the car can tackle a steep hill even when loaded to the gunwales with friends, family and mechanics."
